   Rosenbergs Executed
Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were put to death on this day.  They were the first American civilians to be executed for espionage.

   First Corvette Made
The Chevrolet plant in Flint, Michigan assembled the first Corvette.  The first production line car  was completed two days later.  There were only 300 Corvettes made that year.
