SUSAN M. SHWARTZ received her B.A. from Mount Holyoke College and her M.A. and Ph.D. from Harvard University.  She writes: "As a reader, writer, scholar, I am extremely interested in witches.  My academic training is in medieval literature, especially Arthurian romance which boasts one major wizard and, in the persons of the Ladies of the Lake, many witches and one great sorcerous antagonist to Camelot, Morgan le Fay.  Because of my background in romance studies and my experience in teaching fantasy, I can organize an anthology and write on the subject of witches.  Because of my own fiction - a story published in The Keeper's Price, another forthcoming in Analog, and others circulating - I can make Hecate's Cauldron even more entertaining."
